International medical imaging IT and cybersecurity company Sectra (STO: SECT B) has announced that six hospitals within ENHANCE Ontario (Enabling Healthcare Across Networks of Central East Ontario) will implement its cloud-based enterprise imaging solution, Sectra One Cloud, across 13 hospital sites. This move is set to unify imaging systems, strengthen collaboration in radiology, breast imaging, and orthopaedic planning, and ensure greater reliability, scalability, and security. Ultimately, the deployment will support hospitals in providing more coordinated, higher-quality patient care to communities across the region.
According to Andrew Kelly, Chief Digital Officer at ENHANCE Ontario, this transition represents a significant step forward in the region’s “One Patient, One Record” vision. By consolidating imaging onto a single platform, hospitals can securely share information and resources across facilities, enabling seamless collaboration and consistent delivery of patient care. He also highlighted Sectra’s strong track record with regional healthcare systems, emphasizing confidence in its ability to enhance clinical workflows and boost operational efficiency.
Over 1.5 million people are served by the member hospitals collectively in Central East Ontario, and they do about one million imaging tests annually. Sectra One Cloud, being fully managed, will continuously monitor, optimize, and update the system, easing the workload of ENHANCE Ontario’s centralized IT teams. With scalability built in, the solution can expand as imaging volumes increase and adapt to additional specialties in the future.
Nader Soltani, President of Sectra in Canada, noted that Canadian healthcare providers are increasingly turning to consolidated imaging systems to manage growing demand and improve care collaboration. By adopting this approach, ENHANCE Ontario is advancing both patient outcomes and IT efficiency.
The contract, signed in the first quarter of Sectra’s 2025/2026 fiscal year, covers six ENHANCE Ontario hospitals: Campbellford Memorial Hospital, Haliburton Highlands Health Services, Lakeridge Health, Peterborough Regional Health Centre, Ross Memorial Hospital, and Scarborough Health Network. Initially, they will leverage modules for radiology, breast imaging, orthopaedic planning, and Sectra’s vendor-neutral archive (VNA). Sectra’s enterprise imaging solution offers a unified, modular strategy that allows health systems to scale across specialties while improving outcomes and reducing costs.
