In order to better serve the inhabitants of Fresno county, Health Net and Community Health System have announced they will maintain their long-standing cooperation. Existing and prospective Health Net members registered in commercial, Medicare, and Medi-Cal plans will still have access to the full range of services provided by Community.
The major healthcare organisation in the Central Valley is called Community Health System, which consists of Community Medical Centers (including hospitals and clinics), a health plan, and a network of 380 doctors and dentists. The Fresno Heart & Surgical Hospital is located in northeast Fresno, the Clovis Community Medical Center is located in Clovis, and the Community Regional Medical Center is located in downtown Fresno. Community Medical Centers also runs the Community Behavioral Health Center.

Through CalViva Health, Medi-Cal recipients in Fresno, Kings, and Madera Counties will still have access to CMC. The Medi-Cal managed care plan for Fresno, Kings, and Madera counties is called CalViva Health. In all ZIP codes in Fresno, Kings, and Madera counties, CalViva Health, a full-service health plan, has a contract with the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) to offer services to Medi-Cal managed care subscribers under the Two-Plan model. In order to deliver specific administrative and medical services to CalViva Health members on CalViva’s behalf, CalViva Health has a contract with Health Net.
